Iot Based Fingerprint Attendance System

The IoT-Based Fingerprint Attendance System is an innovative project designed to streamline attendance tracking using biometric authentication. This system leverages IoT technology to create a secure, efficient, and user-friendly way to manage attendance data in real-time.


Components:

1. TFT Display: A touchscreen TFT (Thin-Film Transistor) display is used to provide a user interface where information, such as successful check-in/check-out and error messages, can be visually displayed.

  

2. Arduino Mega: The Arduino Mega serves as the main controller, handling data from the fingerprint sensor and TFT display, and managing communication between other components.


3. NodeMCU: This module enables Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing the system to send attendance data to an online database in real time. With NodeMCU, the system can be connected to a web server or cloud storage, making it accessible from anywhere and ensuring attendance data is always up-to-date.


4. Fingerprint Sensor: The fingerprint sensor is the core of the system, allowing users to check in or out by scanning their fingerprint. This ensures high security, as attendance can only be registered with a biometric match.


5. PCB (Printed Circuit Board): The custom PCB consolidates connections between components, making the system more compact, reliable, and easier to maintain.


6. Jumper Wires: Jumper wires are used to connect various components on the PCB and establish electrical connections throughout the system.


Working:

1. When a user scans their fingerprint, the sensor captures and verifies the fingerprint data against a stored database of authorized users.

2. If the fingerprint is valid, the Arduino Mega registers the attendance, updates the TFT display to show a confirmation message, and sends the data to the NodeMCU.

3. The NodeMCU then uploads the attendance data to a cloud-based server, allowing remote access to attendance records for administrators and managers.

4. The system can be accessed via a web or mobile app to monitor attendance records in real-time and generate reports.
